BT to undertake public payphone consultation

BT is undertaking a formal consultation to consider the future of some of its public payphones which are used rarely, if at all. The affected public payphones for Warminster which have been earmarked for removal are:

  • Victoria Road

  • Woodcock Road

  • Boreham Road/Woodcock Road junction

  • Portway Lane

  • Thornhill Road

  • Boreham Road

The Council is eager to hear from any members of the public who use the payphones and would be disadvantaged by their removal, or those who have attempted to use any of the above payphones but have found them out of order. It would like to establish whether there is a demand for the service in these areas before responding to BT’s consultation which closes in January.
