Christmas Lights and Market

 Saturday 24th November


Come to the Christmas Market at the Civic Centre with over 30 stalls.10am-4pm. Get your unique Christmas gifts. The coffee bar will be open and you can visit Santa‘s Grotto.

Other attractions on the day include: Charlie the donkey, a samba band, a barrel organ, festive music and stilt walkers, a fun bus and swing chairs.

A lot of shops are staying open into the evening and some shops will have stalls.  From 4.30pm there will be food vendors: Barbeque Starr, Val’s Burgers, Paradise in Ice – crepes and ice-cream and Fresh cinnamon doughnuts.  

The lantern parade will assemble at the Three Horseshoes Walk and process up to the old post office and then down to St Lawrence’s Chapel.

By the Chapel there will be Warminster Brass band, Christmas carol singing.  With so many shops decorated with Christmas Trees and Lights, it will be a super display.

The winner of the best lantern competition will turn on the Christmas Lights.



CCTV Operator required

paid or volunteer CCTV operator

1.    Core role - The CCTV Monitoring postholder will support the CCTV Supervisor in the provision of Warminster Town Council’s CCTV service for the towns of Warminster and Westbury, following the protocols held to ensure there is no breach of legislation and law. The CCTV monitoring post can be held by staff or volunteers.


2.     Monitoring duties - The postholder will work in the CCTV Control Room under guidance from the CCTV Supervisor.


3.     Training - On-the-job training will be provided by the CCTV Supervisor, who will also arrange external training if applicable.


4.     Skills - Local knowledge of the area, keyboard skills, the ability to use a two-way radio and the ability to communicate using the phonetic alphabet are required. Training will be provided where necessary.


Hours: 9 hours per week, Friday, 23.00 – 03.00. Saturday, 22.00 – 03.00
